How it works
- Take a screenshot of your Crossplay game in the app — a full, uncropped screenshot works best.
- Open the solver and tap Import screenshot.
- The board is read automatically — tiles, blanks, and your rack. Double-check anything flagged as uncertain, fix with one tap if needed.
- Hit Solve: every legal placement on your board, sorted by score, with bonus squares, cross-words, and the +40 all-tiles bonus counted exactly. Tap any result to preview it on the board.
Why screenshot import beats manual entry
A mid-game Crossplay board can have 60+ tiles on it. Typing that by hand takes minutes and one wrong tile ruins the solve. Screenshot import reads the whole board in about a second, and it recognizes blank tiles (which score zero) correctly — the detail manual entry most often gets wrong.
Tips for a clean read
- Screenshot the whole screen — don't crop the board edges.
- Both light and dark mode screenshots work.
- If a tile is misread, tap it on the imported board and retype that one letter — no need to redo anything else.

What the importer can and can't read
The importer locates the board by its bonus-square colours, fits a 15×15 grid to the tile edges, and matches each tile's letter against templates taken from the game's own typeface. Blank tiles are detected from their colour. It is built for full-screen phone screenshots of the normal game view, in light or dark mode. It reads the board and your rack; it cannot know the opponent's rack, since the game doesn't show it.
If the read is wrong, it is almost always one of three things: the screenshot was cropped inside the board edge, the game was mid-animation, or a system banner covered a row. Retake it and try again; the second read is usually perfect.
